OK fellas, I've searched the message boards and found no consistencies whatsoever, so here it goes again...
I have a 2001 4x4 Dak and want to put the largest tire/rim combo on it possible without rubbing fender or tire. I want to put 15 inch rims on it, but I don't know how wide they can be and I don't know how big a tire can fit without rubbing.
I'm looking to get the gnarliest look without lifting the truck.
Does anyone know of a nice looking tire/rim combination? I'm going for the Mickey Thompson simulated beadlock rims cause I think they look great, but exactly what size I can fit is beyond me.

Hey Kevin-
Sounds like a great setup your going for with MT rims...did you see the new ones? The beadlock ones with a colored band on the outer inner portion of the rim? The band can be any color you pick. Saw it on a red dodge with the red colored bands on the rim...looks awesome! Mickey Thompson's are a good pick with some BF Goodrich's :)

Sweet. Yeah I really liked those M/T simulated beadlock rims. As soon as I saw them, I knew I had to have them. I'm just trying to fit the largest tire/rim combo without tweaking the damn already-flakey suspension on this thing.
I'm going to replace the balljoints, put new rotors on, and replace the tires/rims all at once and was just wondering if anyone knew the max size tire that would fit on a 15 inch rim without messing with body or suspension lifts.

Sorry, don't know the max tire size. I'm sure someone will post it soon. 33's are a good bigger size. They require no modifying. Going into 33's this summer.

I'm curious too-just bought a 2000 quad cab and would like the biggest tire I can get without any modifications. I've got 15 inch rims too.

I like everything but the mileage-14.5--my wife drives a 2000 extended cab and she gets 16.5 and mines a little doggy compared to hers-can't believe there's that much difference between them. Overall-it's a keeper. Martin

Factory on the 16" rims should 265/70's, not 265/75's. I've got 265/75's (upgraded from the 70) and the only time they rub on mine is if the front end dives quite a bit. Otherwise they're great. No rubbing when turning, although they look like they should.

I recently put a set of Goodyear Wrangler MTR on my 2000 ex. cab. I was ablet o fit 32"x11.5" without trimming the plastic in the wheel wells. The tires look just awesome and are actually not very loud.

Those weren't 265/70's or 75's. I just looked at my 2002SLT and it reads 265/65/16. I bought the truck new and they are the original tires.

4.7 in both-3.55 gears in the extended-can't find out what my quad has for gear ratio nothing in the glovebox and the original window sticker doesn't have it listed either. Martin

I also have a 2001. Without a 3" body lift you can go to 33"s with some minor fender cutting. I suggest the 3" lift, then the 33" will fit no problem. I did a 1" block in the back, and a 1.6" torsion bar lift (cranking on the T bars) and I can put in 35"s! But the gearing goes all to heck. With the stock gearing I would suggest only a 33"(x 12.5", on the stock 16" rims).

Roger that fellas. I'll probably go with 31" tires to help reduce the risk of rubbing. I really wanted Mickey Thompson Classic Beadlock rims, but they don't have the bolt pattern for the Dakota...in fact few manufacturers make aftermarket rims with the 6 x 4.5 bolt pattern. Looks like I'm stuck with 589's. They look good, but I had my heart set on the simulated beadlocks so they would match my racing quad. Oh well, live and learn.

I just currently bought an 04 dodge Dakota . I am recently putting a 3' suspension lift in it I want to run 33s on tthis truck when lifted can any one tell me what size rim and tire I can run max on a 3 inch suspension lift and bolt pattern I know its a 6 but is it a 4.5 or a 5.5 thanks appericated

I have a 2007 dodge Dakota SLT extended with 16inch rims.
Does anyone know a good tire size to put on currently I have
245x70 on I would like 265x75 on any thoughts?
