Message: Well the other night I came home and as usual all my favorite spots were taken in my apartment complex. I guess that goes with the territory when you always work late shift... never getting the prime parking spot. HOwever, I can normally find a relatively safe spot for my 04 Quad if Im willing to walk a bit. But of course last night all the end spots where I could leave extra space between me and the car next to me were gone. My favorite spot next to the tree was gone. Every spot in the lot that is ideal for avoiding *******s who don't pay attention when opening their doors was taken. Had no choice but to park in a tight spot between two compacts.
And of course, the one to my right must have decided my freshly washed, waxed, and clayed truck looked just a little too perfect, and I now have a little dimple about three quarters of the way down the door that I can notice from certain angles. IT's nothing huge, maybe a little smaller than the dime, but it bothers me. Truck is only 4 months old, has only 5 thousand miles, and keeping it looking nice seems to be a loosing battle already.
The worst part is, I know exactly which car did it, a ****ty little bright red Geo Prism. I know where it's always parked. In fact I can see it from my window as I sit typing this. Now Im trying to find reasons to take the high road and let it go, but a big part of me wants to strap on my steel toe boots, take a walk through my complex, and have one of my quadraceps suddenly spasm while I pause in front of this little clunker. After all, that person gave me an imperfection I now either have to learn to live with or pay to fix. They should have the same IMHO. What would you guys do? I got all the time in the world to think it over, as I know exactly where to find it if and when I ever want to retaliate.

Message: I think I may start parking on the street on days when all my safe spots are taken. The walk really isn't that long and it's a very safe area...
Can't wait to start house shopping in December. A garage is a MUST...

Message: If it is really only noticeable at certain angles and you (no offense, but we are anal about our trucks, especially virgin ones) notice it. My question is two part:
Could it have been an accident?
If not, get it fixed and ask the offender to pay - Of course, this makes a midnight kick the mud off the boot exercise difficult to do anonymously.
Not that I approve of your method, but dinging a dinged up car would do any good - breaking something (mirror, door handle, headlight, tailight, face, - you get the point) would be more cathartic.

Message: some chode parked next to me once, so godd@mn close i couldn't fit between the two vehicles, let alone open the door. i had parked at the vacant end of the parking lot specifically to avoid j@ck@sses like this, and here he has to come park next to me with 50 other open spaces nearby. AND, it was a g0ddamn lexus. moron.
i had to get in on the passenger side and scoot across. I was really pissed by the time i got over and belted in etc. took my housekey off the ring and firmly applied it to the lexus as i backed out of the space, left a nice long scratch. to add insult to injury, i also hocked a big lugie onto the rear window.
never done anything like that before or since.
(never seen such a blatant case of freaking j@ck@ss-ism either)

Message: aaaarrrrggg door dings, I hate people who dont have any respect for someones ride. A few months back I was at the mall and parked at the back taking up 2 spaces as usual. When I got back to my truck it was fine but as I was leting it warm up this dumb b**ch desides to park about a foot away from my pass side. I was loading a cd that I just bought so I didnt really notice her untill she opened her door right in to the side of my truck. I got out to look at the door and she started to walk away. I yelled at her to come back. I gave her the third degree about respect and she said "I didnt hit it hard" and opened her door again to show me how hard she hit it. I couldnt beleive she did it again!! I could have killed her. Then she told me if I didnt take up to spots that wouldnt happen. I pointed out to her that there are 200 other spots in the lot right around us and why the hell did you park next to me? She just walked away. The only thing that kept me from blowing a gasket was that she didnt leave any damage

Yes, but an accident caused by someone not paying enough attention to their door because they don't have enough respect for the vehicle next to them to even think about it.
Brian... if I were you, after she did it the second time, I would have been like "No, I disagree, I think you did it more like this..." and then demonstrated with my own door.

Message: I know a guy who had his nieghbor charged with hit and run after getting about 5 or 6 dings over a 2 week period. They share the drive way between the 2 houses and his mustang (that was freshly painted) was getting killed by her rusty old camaro. He he tried to talk to her about it and she just told him to **** off. So he went to the cops to see what he could do. They told him that its considered a hit and run accident. As soon as the cops showed up at her door she agreed to pay for the damage. She now parks on the street.

Message: Haaaa!
Ever take a bitch like that and just knock the hell out of her? Try it. It's fun! You might quit crying about all the Dodges out running your Chevy. Call the police. Haaa! You got to a damn Yanke.
Take up 2 parking spots. HAAAA! I want them to hit my truck. I take it as a personal assault on my truck and I hit their car/truck.
I kicked the side in on a BMW one time while it was driving away. They got in their BMW and the bitch driving slammed her door into the side of my truck. Her pussy husband/boyfriend jumped in the passanger side and told her I was coming. She slammed it in reverse as I was coming around the back side of my truck. When she backed out I stuck the heel of my boot just in front of the rear bumper amking a huge dent. Then the idiots drove through the parking lot at like 50-60MPH just missing some children and their mom coming out of Dillards. So come on and ding my truck. I beg you to!

Message: Try the Gandhi approach. Lie in wait for the fool; when she approaches her car, accost her, smiling benevolently; show her the damage, and then tell her that you forgive her completely and that you are deeply concerned about all the bad karma she must be amassing. Suggest that she may return in the next life as something unwholesome, like a dung beetle or a trial lawyer. If she offers to pay for repairs, fine. If she doesn't, you can always smack the bejeezus out of her.

Message: Come on. Use some injinuity and a few friends. It's a Geo. Just take two buddies and stick it over the curb next time you get home late. She'll be stuck there. I did it to a guy's bug once. He was to stupid to think of getting a couple friend to help him pick it back up and over, so they called a tow truck.

Message: I feel your pain. My wife's car is 3 years old with only 17K on it and in perfect condition. I always made her park it in no mans land in the parking lot, by nice cars, to make sure Aholes wouldn't ding it up. Never catch me parking between a $500 Pinto and a $1000 Cavalier, this is a recipie for door dings.
We went to the hospital a couple of days ago, no parking spots of course, and when we came out, you got it. F'n peice of cr@p put a ding the size of a quarter in the passanger door. I was so mad my wife thought of taking me back into the hospital for something to calm my nerves. LOL
I guess it's kind of like fishing, 10% of the water holds 90% of the fish. Well, 10% of people are careless POS who are causing 90% of the damage. And, we pay out the nose for insurance because of these people.
Wished the car was still there when I came out so I could serve a little biblical justice, a dent for a dent, scratch for a dent, flat tire for a dent? Ah, what ever would make me feel better.
