Subject: Some questions - TPS adjust, leak, etc.

I just got to backprobing my TPS and I am showing .618 vdc on the middle wire. Should I waller out the holes and adjust it to .7, or is this close enough that I should leave it alone?

My rear end has been leaking since I bought her, (yeah I know, W I D E open on this one). The leak is odd though. It's on the left side where the pumpkin and axle meet. One shop told me there's a seal there and $$$$$$ to change. Another told me there's no seal there and to just put a bead of silicone around it, or have a welder put a bead around it because it never needs to ever come apart. He opined the vent must be blocked off the axle and letting some pressure build. I just pulled off the vent and it checked fine, as did the hose and cap. What now? I'm inclined to pack it with silicone and hope for a seal. Thoughts?

I just did the "S" hook mod on the air hat. Took like 2 whole minutes :-) Dunno if it'll really do anything though.

Thanks in advance for some helful replies!

Clean the area well and try JB weld (type of epoxy) for the leak. The reason for the TPS adjustment is to cure a lag in throttle response. When you hit the gas, does your truck instantly respond ? Mine does, so I never checked the voltage. Don't bother with it unless you have a problem with throttle response.

Thanks! Funny thing tonight, I took her out and the truck feels quicker and snappier then ever. Maybe it has finished the "learning" cycle in the PCM since the new TPS?

ANyway, no complaints on the new TPS so I'll leave it alone - thanks.

I'll seal my rear too, hehe.

TNX!
