they get about 190-199 at the RWHP.

Message: The base crate engine, with the same wimpy cam and carb intake is rated at 300hp, so 250hp seems fair. It does seem that the overdrive trannys soak up more power than they should.

Message: Of course the HP is rated at the engine. Where else would you rate the HP of the engine? If they rated the HP at the wheels they would call it RWHP. Regardless of what the RWHP is, the engine is still producing 250HP so that's what they put on the sticker. They don't do it because it looks or sounds better on paper. They do it because it makes sense.
