Subject: extended -oil drains IP: Logged
Message: there are alot of discussions on this site about motor oils and we hear alot about extended drains.I have always changed my oil every 3000 miles.I am having trouble buying into the extended drain concept.I would like to hear from some people that have actually logged alot of miles on an engine using extended drains.also i would like to hear from anyone that has taken an extended drain engine apart .what was the condition was it sludged up?

I have a lot of experiance with AMSOIL products and for many years I tried to destroy all kinds of engines in my lawn care business by pushing the oil drain intervals to the limit and proving AMSOIL wrong.
I have owned many trucks from both GM and DODGE and put high mileage on two of these trucks (over 200,000 miles).
I recently replaced my intake manifold gaskets and lifters on a 1978 D-100 with 260,000 miles and found the lifter valley to be nearly spotless.
The old lifters had very minimal wear for the mileage and were replaced only because I would hear a tic-tic-tic every once in a while.
If you have any further questions please let me know.

You looking for proof Andy?
Visit the FTC's web site and search on these WELL-KNOWN companies that you’ve probably heard of or used yourself (or may be using right now) over the last several years and see the kinds of trouble you can get into:

Now search on Federal Trade Commission’s web site for Amsoil and see what comes up:

Wow. Nothing!!! Funny how there is not ONE single FTC charge for deceptive or misleading advertising for Amsoil.
See. If you print a claim on the back of a bottle or package of a product, IT BETTER PERFORM AS DESCRIBED or the whole world will know you are a deceiving the public and class action law suits will clearly be found on the Internet.
Nothing!!! Not ONE single FTC charge for deceptive or misleading advertising for Amsoil.

haven't torn my engone apart yet and hopefully never will but going on 89,000 miles, AMSOIL extended drain intervals while doing OIL ANALYSIS, everything is great. Have gotten 20,000 miles between changes w/a filter change in between. No problems
2002 QC 4x4 Sport Plus, 4.7L, auto, Patriot Blue, Tire & Handling group, Heavy Duty Service group, Leer cap w/out windows, Mopar Step bars and roof rack, Rhino liner in bed and on step bars, Pace Edwards Power Tailgate lock 3.55 rear, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, all possible fluids are AMSOIL
