Subject: O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction IP: Logged
Message: Started my 2000 4.7 yesterday morning and check engine light comes on. OBD-2 reader shows four codes:
P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 1
P0141 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 2
P0155 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction Bank 2 Sensor 1
P0161 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction Bank 2 Sensor 2
Seems to me that all of my O2 sensors wouldn't go bad at the same time, so I'm thinking it is something else. Anyone have any idea??
Truck has 37000 miles on it. Its been really cold lately, in 20s if that makes a difference.
Thanks!!
Steve

Message: what are the letter codes that come up with the 02 codes? My manual will pin down the exact problem with those if yours does not. Check your manual and let me know.

Message: The letter codes are P0135, P0141, P0155, P0161. Unfortunately I don't own a factory service manual so I can't look them up, that would be great if you could!!
Thanks

Message: what i meant was there are letter codes that come up on the screen on mine,i.e.: M,F,CC,C,O,OH,etc. These come up at the top of the code reader with the numbered codes that you have listed. At least on mine. Then when I look at my manual it specifies the part or problem with the part. My reader is the DIGITAL OBDII CODE READER so it may be different. But check the screen and see if anything else letter wise comes up. If it does I may be able to help.

Message: I can give it a GUESS. But I think your Oxygen Sensor Heater Monitor is bad. This is what brings the O2 Sensors up to the operating temp of 600deg or more to make them function properly. If they dont reach this temp, then you will get the codes you are showing for all your sensors. This may be something you have to verify or have dealer change unfortunantly. No clue how to fix this, but maybe someone else has had this problem in colder areas. Hope I helped a little.

Message: Check to see if the ground next to the coil is loose. I have a 2001 Dakota that started kicking P0141 and P0161. After replacing the 2/2 sensor and checking the relays and fuzes that were good, it was the loose ground. The ground looked good, but I was able to get 2-3 full turns on the nut holding it to the block and that cleared it up. Hope this helps
