I am from Yuma, AZ. The general feeling I get here is that everyone that has a problem with there Dakota also has a shithole Service Dept to boot. So where is everyone from and where is your service Dept. Maybe we should band together to get some of these "5 star dealerships" attention to the crap they deal?

My 5 star dealer is now a 0 star dealer. They have all these signs up "We want to be a 5 star dealer! ask how you can help!"

Just to say that my dealer, Marty Cancilla Dodge World in Florissant, MO is a 5***** dealer. On time with appointments, gets the truck in and out on time and explains what was done. Happy with them.
On the other hand, Leader Chevrolet has the worst service department I have ever seen. No appointments taken, first come first served. Imagine the wait. 3 hours for an oil change - comeon.
I won't even go into boat dealers service departments - gets me pissed even thinking about them.

Thanks Tyler, the wife and I enjoy all of the toys. Thinking about dumping the Z28 though, as soon as I can order an 02 SS 35th Anniversary Convertible.

I will agree that there are alot of poor severice depts. I work in the auto industry and you would not belive the high turn-over rate at dealership mechanics. My tech. group generaly finds that dealership parts depts are only hitting 50/50 on ordering the right part for the aplication the first time around. THe mark up on parts is two to three times what they paid for that part and they grossely over charge for labor involed. I know that their are good dealers out their but I get 150 calls per-day from customers that are getting the run around and need help. I think as an industry the auto companys are doing a realy poor job of makeing sure dealer ships represent their best interest. They other day I asked my service dept for the price and availability of a filter kit and 6 quarts of ATF+4. Instead of looking up the price and availabilty for me he (The Service Manager)told me that they do not do that until 30,000 miles. So they will not recive my money instead I am getting a belding filter kit and amsoil ATF+4 at another store. I was an ASE certified tech. a few years ago and was also certifed in Europe. They brushed me off like I was some blonde bimbo named barbie asking about muffler bearings. That told me all I needed to know about that service dept.

Marty Cancilla Dodge World in Florissant, MO has a crappy service department. They say they can work on any vehicle...lie. We had an issue covered under warranty and they said they can work on a Chevy truck so since they were close we decided to take it to them. They said they spent hours on the phone with the warranty place...lie. They said there was a problem with our truck, then they said there wasn't when they thought the warranty company wouldn't pay for a new part instead of rebuilding the old one. They didn't even try to talk to the warranty company about it. We had to. They continued to lie to us. The only way we got anything done was to make continuous calls to the warranty place and to them. We will not deal with them ever again.

Advantage Nissan in Bremerton, Wa.
To them, piston slap is normal, and used cars don't get a good cleanup or maintenance before putting them back on the lot to sell.
