Message: sounds like you have a "vent flap" w/in the duct work which isn't working. i believe that they work on vacuum. unfortunately you'll have to contort yourself under the dash and try following the ducts. you should see vacuum plumbing going various places on the plenums.
if you have access to a shop manual this might make things easier. but i doubt it. it could be the vacuum line itself (fell off or leaking). it could be the internal "flapper" itself. or it could be the control unit in the dash (the fan control/temp control/vent location controller).

Message: I took my 2001 QC back to the dealer (when it was new) because hot air was not blowing onto the floor area when the heater was on. I was told that was normal.
All of my other vehicles have always blown lots of hot air directly onto the floorboard area.
I don't think this is normal. Fortunately, I live in a warm climate where the heater is not all that important.

Message: Look for things that might be blocking the floor vents. On my old Dak, I had a rat crawl in there and die, blocking one of the vent flaps.

Message: I had the exact same problem with my 2001 RC 4.7L.
I bought the truck new in the winter and I imediately took it back to the dealer because my feet were freezing. They told me there was nothing wrong with it. I got rid of that truck really quick. None of the gen3's blow worth a damn on the floor vents, but the 2001 seams to be the worst. My 2000 doesn't put out as much as I would like on the floor, but it is liveable.

Message: Same deal here. it seems to blow far up by the firewall, but not on your feet as would be expected. I have yet to have a good look at it, im sure i could cut something up

Message: Upon my first winter with my 01 QC I had the exact problem. The dealer I brought it to said it was blocked during assembly and that there was a dealer bulletin on it. They fixed it N/C. It blows great, but not directly on the feet. Kind on in the middle. I don't see a TSB on it, but the dealer said they were aware of the problem.
