Why they insist on littering their trucks with chrome is beyond me, but with a little lift here, some 35" wheels there, and slab of paint on that grill and bumper....this could be a real nice truck.

Message: "litter their trucks with chrome"?
I think chrome looks fantastic on any vehicle.
I guess DC should have asked your permission before they redesigned their truck.
Who the fukc are you anyway?

If the Germans made it a habit to ask permission for things, the French army would have one less drop scuff on their rifles and a boatload of white flags.
While I'm sure that chrome accents do appeal to a specific segment of society, those of us without black lacquer furniture, shoulder length mullets, and whose name isn't prominently displayed on an embroidered chest patch feel that perhaps such JC Whitney-esque design cues left the contemporary scene back when Jack, Chrissy and Janet quit being roommates. Each man is entitled to his own opinion, and I suppose, well...OH, alright, you children can have one too.

Looks alright, other than the Dodge grille/headlights, it kinda resembles an Avalanche(model sans body cladding) with the excessive protruding fenders. The wheels almost look Chevy too lol. I'll get used to it like every other change Dodge has made and get myself one after the first year run is out and some of the bugs are identified/corrected. I don't trust DC for the first year run on any of their models, with Mercedes possibly being an exception.
For my tastes, I hope those little car mirrors are not the largest available and the rear taillights are going to make it a biatch for aftermarket taillight guard makers to design them for a form fitting appearance. I do like the rear bumper design better, appears to be more step area and it doesn't look like a stuck on afterthought like the 97-04 models the way it wraps around the body.
Also, too bad for us pre-05 owners, the new 5-bolt wheel pattern will only further reduce the wheel options for us.
Flowmaster cat back, Volant Intake, Poweraid TB Spacer, Splitfire Plugs, full synthetic fluids 4 inch Rancho/3 inch body Lift, 315 70-17 on AE 219's, Rancho 9000x's Grizzly double/single rollbar with (6)Hella's, Manik Nerfs/Tailight Guards, Line-X, Hard Work & $$$$$$$$$$

Message: These photos look like the new look I remember when I went to a Dodge-sponsored truck viewing of new looks for future offerings.
I was fresh from purchasing my new 2002 QC in August and attended the show at the Los Angeles convention center in December (I think) 2002. The truck prototypes I saw were a little rougher than these photos, but I specifically remember the too-big front bumper and the over-bulging (front & rear) fender lines and how they didn't blend well at all with the sides.
I took every opportunity on the questionaire to indicate my dislike for the new look.
I left that show mourning how such a beautiful truck would be ruined should they actualy produce this look. If these photos are real, then I am so happy I have a great looking GenIII model.
Of course, this is my opinion. Some folks may actualy like the new look. That's what makes free enterprise and free will such a great thing.

1 the truck got wider??

Message: I like it. I think the new look is good. It looks like the wheel/tire package is more balanced ize wise for the openings. I don't know why the gas opening would be a problem. I guess some people find theirs hard to use?
If you need bed space buy a full size. Don't buy a small pickup for the bed space. That's just plain dumb. As for the 5 lug wheels, my Jeeps all have 5 lugs. 6 lug whels are just a scam to limit aftermarket wheel choices and jack up the price.
If it comes with a Hemi and ball joints that don't wear out before the first tank of gas is through I'll buy one. Chrome and all. That'll be the 4th Dak over 3 generations I've owned.
