Don't know if this helps but on my truck an 03 there is a purple/yellow wire to the far left on the data com port. This is the data bus line that transmits the temp/fuel economy information that you are missing. My overhead console computer had three wires attached. One is a ground wire, one is a switched power wire, and the other is the data bus wire.

splice the data bus wire from your console to the data bus line on the data com port and you should be in business.

again mine is an 03 so it might be diffrent

i was lucky enough to already have the temp sensor on my truck, so I can't help you there.

You don't need to wire the lights to the data com port. Wire the lights to the existing lights you already have on the original overhead.

Look closely at the computer box in the overhead console, it should have three wires coming from it.

One is a power wire for the computer, I ran mine to the fuse box to a switched power source....i used the radio because it dims when the you use the headlights.

the second wire will be a ground

the third wire goes to the data bus, it is used for information only, not to power your lights.

If it is wired like you say, then I don't know whats wrong sorry...maybe the console is not compatible, it is a diffrent year.

I bought a console from the same year as my truck and didnt have any problems. It took me an hour to install, the hardest part was running the wires down the pillar.

Sorry i couldnt help...good luck.
