Subject: Questions about 99 RT IP: Logged
Message: Submitting a loan app in the morning to buy a 1999 Dakota R/T, w/ 5.9L. Test drove it, loved it. Thier asking 6k for it, has 110k miles. Basicly wondering what to look at for maintance in the near/long term on that specific model, so as to not be suprised. Is there anything on it that tends to wear out faster than normal?
Thanks in advance

It's like any other truck. Drive it too hard and something will break. Take good care of it and it will run a long time. I would be concerned about buying one with that many miles on it because you never know what the previous owner put it through. If it looks good it probably is OK. You should be able to fix anything major that breaks and still keep it under $10,000.00 total. That's a bargan!
