I have a 99 dakota CC 5.2L automatic > 47,000 miles > last fall i developed a knock > I could only hear it at idle and a bit off idle when in the truck > If i opened the hood to check it out it wasn't there > finally figured out ( from my dealer ) that it was the purge valve and that it was a 50 dollar item and chances were 50/50 the new one would not knock > Mine is on the fire wall > newer ones are behind the battery as i'm told so you can't hear it > I was going to move mine but desided that wasn't practical > My question is, has anyone figured a way to remount it where it is to stop it from telegraphing into the fire wall > it's rubber mounted now but no a great setup > Any ideas guys > been reading the forums for months and went through all the back dates > seen nothing on this > Thankyou for any help you may have

i think your best bet is to save the 50$ and get a new one and you can prob. get it much cheaper off the net so check, usually if its 50$ from a dealership its 20$ online and even 50$ isnt bad to fix something wrong under your hood at all bro you should be lucky. give it a shot, you dont have anything to loose but maybe 50$ at the most.
