Message: I have a 2001 dakota bought it brand new(3.5months and I have 13000miles.) The first month I had in at the dealer four times for a total of about a week. 1st prob. some clicking noise out of the front end(repaired dealer said a bolt stripped that holds the brake lines to the upper control arm.) 2nd same prob 1week later, the dealer replaced the both of the upper control arms cuz the hole on the control arm was stripped not the bolt.) 3rd prob at about 10-13mph the truck would hesitate something like it was shifting or about to stall. If you tried to cruise at 10-13 it do it until you sped up past 10-13? Dealer said they replaced govenor in trans and fixed it. Yeah for about 2 weeks started acting up again. Not to bad at first but now it is doing the same thing? I really love my truck I just hate the probs I am having. I am thinking of torching this thing if the dealer can't fix the problem? Any suggestions? Anyone else own 2001 club cab slt v6 with similar problems. Any help would be appreciated?
Wes

Message: Sorry about your trouble bud. I've been having so many of your problems and more. I'm so pissed I went out and almost bought an Acura CL type S3.2. Cooled off a bit though.

Message: Mine has 3000 and just came out of the shop. Clicking from the front end and the alignment was(still is) out.
They said there was a TSB on the steering? And said The air pressure was low on the tires. I am not rocket scinetist, but i did check the air pressure before i brought it in.
I got it back, they rotated the tires( to hide the wear showing on the front already i guess). Alignment is still out, front end still clicks when i turn. I am dumping it after a year.

Message: You know my alignment isn't quite right either. Hmm.....there is a big ugly pattern with these things. It is a damn shame. I am starting to get really pissed.

Message: I bought my 2001 Dakota 4x4 in June and it wasn't more than 3 months and my tranny started shifting very hard when going into 2nd and my motor would idle very rough. My truck slams into 2nd more so when its cold. I took it to a dealership for service 5 different times and they could fine nothing. Said it was internal and could not pin point anything.I'm ready to drive this truck off a cliff! I've also had problems with my steering when I hit a bump in the road the truck seems like it can't hold its own on the road. This scares me when the roads are wet cause I feel like I'm going to lose it. Love the power, and the looks, but damn this truck has issues! If any one can offer some suggestions, I'll take them.

Message: Don't know about the tranny - keep after the dealer to fix it. My 2K 4.7 4x4 skips like that on bumps in turns too, one hop but when it comes back down its planted. If you're running 50 lbs try lowering back tire pressure to 32 - 35 lbs. Lousy stock shocks aren't well matched to the application, but work better when your truck is used as a truck ( towing or with a load in the bed ).

Message: Oh yeah, and next time could you just post your question without dredging up a 2 year old post ? Thanks.
