 Subject: factory keyless entry?? help?

alright supposedly my truck has keyless entry according to the VIN information, however it was bought used and i did not get any remotes for the keyless entry becasue the person who traded the car in didnt not include them.
Is there a way to look in my truck and see if i really do have keyless entry?
if so where do i look and what does it look like?
can i go to the dealer and get remotes for it, or any suggestions?

If it has it you can get remotes pretty cheap on eBay. Usually around $10 a piece I think, sometimes cheaper. Some claim to have programming instructions included, but from what I hear it's easiest to just take it to the dealer to have it done..

Like the last guy said, get some cheap ones from eBay, then check your owners manual (if you have it) for programming instructions.

yeah i was a similar situation. you can have the dealer verify the keyless via your vin number.
Then, get the remote off ebay or have the dealer tell you which exact P/N remote you need. then get it off ebay. without and existing remote, you'll need the dealer to program your first remote for you. after that you can program all the extras you want. the dealer charge is pretty minimal, maybe even a courtesy.

thanks guys... i have had body work and stuff done to my truck and under vehicle description from the VIN it says i have keyless entry etc... so i figure i have it.. however it also says i have power seats but i dont?? how do you think it is for a remote from the dealer?

i thought a dealer remote was $30 or so. that may be hight but i think that's why i was dead set on ebay. i think you can get them on ebay for $10-15 or so.
never hurts just to ask the dealer , you never know.
