Message: Help: I purchased a 2001 dodge dakota quad cab. The rear end was about 2.5 inches higher than the front.I turned the torsion bars and got another inch towards it sitting level. Has anybody taken out the overload spring in the rear to see how much this drops the rearend? Thanks

Message: My 04 QC 4x4 is sitting low on the pass. side too, and I've had it 2 weeks! I think it came off the lot that way. Haven't had time to get under and check torsion bars yet though, probably one just not as tight as the other.

Message: Next dumb question......I know a good amount about cars, but not much other than the basics about torsion bars.....how hard are they to tighten??

Message: Not sure yet, I know on Chebbys all it takes is a socket, a breaker bar, and some grunting.

Message: On mine it's the driver's side. The front end has been sinking since I bought the truck a few months ago. I traded in an old beater Ranger that was doing the exact same thing. Must be the commuter parking garage I use. I usually have to climb three levels on their corkscrew ramp. It's not bad enough to force me under the truck in this frigid weather, though!

Message: If you jack the front end up to take the weight off the suspension, you can do it without the grunting...
