Whose there?
A Chevy Engine of course...
If anyone believes that replacing a engine is easier than replacing some ball joints and some rotors, then that would explain the average intelligence of a chevy buyer without much needed explanation.

Message: Yep. A dremel or grinder will take care of the rivets on the ball joints pretty quick. The replacements just bolt on. Pretty easy to do. Personally, I kinda like Chevys too, but paying big bux for a slappin' engine would pi$$ me off

Message: I took this from that site. I find it amusing.
"What do you think about the srt-10? I just got truck trend and the as-tested price was $47,900! Do you think that if someone who bought an SS put about $12,000 into it, they'd beat the srt-10?"
and secondly:
"VERY true about the spending of 35,000 and 10,000 in modifications ,but I bet the SS would run with an SRT10"

Message: LOL those guys are now beating CBR F4s and lightnings. there is no end to the BS. Ok ill give that a supercharged SS can keep up and beat a STOCK lightning. But if the lightning owner does a few small tweaks the SS guy is seeng the SVT logo on the tailgate all day long.

Message: enough about the piston slap.its not a rod knock, just bad rings.kinda like sorry ball joints an restrictive throttle bodies&cats that keep stock r/t's slower than they should be.you can't judge a whole brand by one thing, like the lean burn ignition that knocked on old dodges.i drive a 95 dak. with a 318 and i lke it i also have a mean a$$ chevyII(327 high 11s n/a)if i want to go fast i'll always have chevy power personally.so just stop hatin'because y'all ain't had a muscle car since the 74' e-body.

Message: So go away and don't come back. You must be a pretty sorry sack of skin if you have to hang out on a Dodge board and bash the home team.
And just remember, when you turn off the ignition and those pisrons stop slapping around and all you hear is silence...you're still sitting in a fukcing Chevy. Nuff said.

Message: ok,i like the way the chevy SS look, but they are hella slow!i drive an 02 R/T,almost stock, and ive killed a few of those, repeatedly! In truckin',they compared those to lightnings, and the 1/4 mile time for the ss was 16.0-16.1 So EVEN charged a lightning would beat one anyway!and i'll be the first to admit that r/t's come underpowered, but ss silverados are a joke!
before i bought my r/t i had always been a chevy person.but the things they are doing now are ridiculous.they get rid of their f body cars, and come out with a bunch of SLOW,ugly-retro,overpriced,underpowered,pieces of garbage!
in my opinion,if chevy wants to save any face the 2005 vette Z06 that they say is coming out with 500hp,better beat the 2005 mustang cobra.at least i hope it does, because i still hate fords!

Message: actually,i've read that the SS runs in the 14.8-15.1 range, admittedly not spectacular, but far from 16.1,h*ll i've seen a stock 5.3 silverado run a 15.1.I'd much rather have that than a SS.yuou can't put a lot of stock in mags like Car&driver an Motortrend, they said the hemi ram run a 15.1 too.

Message: well,if those things run high 14s low 15s,i wanna see someones timeslips because i dont believe it.my buddy has a 2001 ext cab 5.3 silverado w/power programmer,180 tstat, and no cat dual exhaust with x pipe and he runs low 15s,and i barely sneak past him, just depends on which of us hooks up first.and ive watched him kill the same SS silverados.
using the ss badge on a 50 ton(EXAGGERATION) all wheel drive truck that wish it ran a 15 flat, that costs 41k brand new, kinda disappointing!my buddy's silverado is more deserving!
im not bashing chevy because i dont like them.im bashing them because im disapointed in them!

Message: No, Acording to T.T magazine Silverado SS with its H.O 6 litre (364)vortech only runs in the high 15's and the regular cab stock 5.7 Hemi/1500 runs mid to low 15's.
Of course look at the weight differnce. because the SS has AWD (transfercase needed) its going to be heaver to begin with. AWD does work devent off the line preventing well spin but not as good as you think hugging corners.
Acturly the Ram was the best handling of the bunch. The F-150 H-D came in second and the SS came in a close third.
But what I do like about both GM and Chryslers strategy is that you don't need a Supercharger in order to have the seat of you pants fell. The stock 330 cid triton is already a stought engine with out a supercharger. My idea would be to bore&stroke it up to a 429 and add a Hipro cam with tubular headers.
I just wonder what the next Hemi is going to be like?

Message: regarding the 5.3 silverado running a 15.1 i live at sea level so that helps,i've also seen a stock 5.7 vortech run 15.4s,and r/t's runnin' 14.9s,low altitude helps!

Message: STS,
The QC Ram weighs 4884lbs.
The RC Ram weighs 4499lbs.
I can't find the weight for a Siverado SS Xcab, but a 2002 Silverado Xcab V8 4x4 weighs 4534lbs.
That should be real close to the SS weight. The SS should weigh a little less than a real 4x4 making it lighter than a RC Ram. Those Ram weights are based on a 2002 4.7L. The 5.7L Hemi trucks would weigh even more. If the Ram is out running the SS it's because it's making more HP.
