I priced one out on the dodge site for a little over 45k, I guess the markup is going to be huge for a while.

Hey Zach, are you SURE that was an SRT-10 you priced? I just went to the Dodge site and they don't even let you build them there, nor do they give an MSRP.. Maybe they changed something, dunno... Besides, that seems INSANELY cheap for that...

MSRP in the booklet is just over 45K, so 83 is a huge mark up. I'd tell them to screw themselves.

Justi,
Yes I am sure. www.dodge.com, then click ram, then build and price (If it doesnt show up, make sure that 4x2 and 2 door are selected). MSRP 45,850

80K should also be a HELL of a lot more than $700 a month payments!

Even at 0 percent interest and 6 years, I think it would be more like 1k or so depending on down payment.

I actually saw two of them on ebay. One was at a dealership and one was a concept model. The reserve was over $50K. Too rich for my blood. But it would be nice.

Are you talking about HB dodge? dude those guys are way overpriced on their trucks. they wanted to charge me 28k + tax and lic for my dakota. Got it at irvine auto square for 24 K out the door.
I saw one of the Viper ASC or somethign liek that on the showroom and they were asking 90 k for it.
I havent been back in a while so I dotn know if they have a SRT truck.
as for what I would pay for one IMO would be what the truck is priced at. it is gonna be a production vehicle. Yeah I know the dealer is gonan mark it up to the sky but thats way too much $$ for what the truck is. They jsut did what chevy did back in 92 with the 454SS. they took a 1/2 ton and threw a big block in it. the thing that sucked my 454ss was no faster than my 350 powered GMC Sierra which had the same 454ss body treatment but no big block.
I think the SRT is way overpriced, but im pretty sure that a die hard mopar fan with $$ or wealthy people will buy them.

It is not just a dodge with a big block. It is a dodge truck with 500 hp, and over 500 ft/lb of torque delivered through a 6 speed gearbox. It has 22 inch rims and looks awesome. It has 4 whell disc brakes with abs, and handles like a sports car. A 454ss is exactly that, a $hitty chevy truck with rear drum brakes, stock chevy truck suspension, and a torquey yet underpowered big block.

It was just a comparision for the sake of it. i never said the srt is a 454ss. Sure it has all the cool stuff everyone wants and a warranty to boot. It looks very mean and has the power to back it up. I jsut think its overpriced for what it is. overpriced as in what the dealer mark up is. the sticker price is 45 K or so? but you KNOW the dealers will tack on a extra 10-15K just because its 1st run and everyone who has $$ and a speed addiction will want one. Personally I would take the $$ and buy a house. in 5 years the house will be worth a lot more than a production truck will. ( obviously within limits). heck I still remember when the VW Bug and PT Cruiser came out and people were paying INSANE markups to be the first to own one. as soon as supply caught the demand these people were trying to sell a 20K car for 27K to get out of the insane payments.
Would I like to own a SRT 10. Hell YEAH. would I spend the $$ a delaer wants for one Hell NO.
Anyway......
Rob
