If anyone knows the answers to these questions, I would appreciate a reply. Thankyou.
I am putting a 318 out of an 86 Ramcharger into my 90 Dodge Dakota 4x4.
Did you have to move the motor back?
If so, how far?
What did you use for motor mounts?
How did you support your front axle?
Did you have to modify your V8 oil pan?
Did you use your stock 3.9L rad?
I am going EFI again. Did you?
Did you use stock fan?

Ken, don't have all the answers, but some of this may help. Dodge's first V8 Dakota was the '89 Shelby. They welded a crossmember forward of the K-frame and bolted it to the mounts on the new crossmember in the usual fashion. As Bill said, see Schumacher. Anyway, Dodge stretched the front-end for '91. They couldn't move the engine back without doing away with the distributor (for starters). On the Shelby, they put dual electric fans in front of the stock V6 radiator. You can't even see them in there, however, when the relay failed, I started working on an engine-driven fan setup. I found a radiator that'd fit forward where the electric fans were. You can get a nice generic aluminum radiator from Summit that'll work even better. Slide it forward into the radiator support and route the plumbing. A standard flex-fan 16-17 inches- with a 1 1/2 inch spacer will fit. It's cozy, but it'll fit. I'm also looking at a short-shaft clutch-fan setup from a 1973 Dodge truck. I'd prefer to have a viscous OEM-style package. I'm really surprised Mopar didn't do this to begin with.
