Subject: ABS & Brake Light On IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone had issues with their ABS & Brake light coming on unexpectedly? I took it to the dealer and they replaced the Ant-Lock brake module. It was fine for a week but now the lights are on again! Back to the dealer!

Message: Have you replaced the PCM recently? If yes then the dealer needs to update it with your VIN # and mileage. DO NOT TELL THEM TO FLASH THE PCM OR YOU WILL GET THE "DEATH FLASH" (loss of power and mileage).
How do I know? They did the flash to mine (2000).
I have since bought a used PCM (pre Death Flash) and now my ABS and brake light are on. I'm trying to find a dealer who will install my VIN and mileage and not charge an hours labour.

Message: If the PCM already had a VIN in it, you cannot write another VIN to it. The ABS lights are not because of the different VIN.
