Subject: Wiper Motor IP: Logged
Message: 2000 CLub Cab, unfortunately the 3.9L
My wiper motor has developed a hum/noise when used at higher wiper speeds. The motor has already been replaced once (about 2 months after purchased brand new). Is this problem common with the Dakota, I saw very little in the archives on the subject. If anyone has replaced their motor, how difficult was the replacement, and how pricey the motor? Right now I just plan to drive on until the S.O.B. stops working. Thanks in advance-

It is an easy job to pull the motor. When you do, check the condition of the plastic grommits in the assembly. The weather does horrible things to them.
They are cheap, but you have to buy them from the dealer.
Be careful waiting for a wiper motor to break before replacing it. They tend to go bad when you need them the most.
