Subject: Stalling Problem IP: Logged
Message: Anyone have experience with this...
Since I've had my Dakota, I've had only one complaint with it... when I pull into a parking spot after driving, and shift the truck into Park, the RPM's drop down to like 300 before going to normal idle speed, the lights dim as a result, and on occassion the truck stalls. Usually the RPMs bounce back and the truck idles normally, but its kind of weird that it does that at all. Also, the problem seems to be amplified if I'm parked on a hill. Any thoughts?

Message: is its newer dak, with magnum engine it could need a throttle body and sensor cleaning, it happens that the iac and bores get clogged up with grime, give them a nice clean with some carb tb cleaner and then reset the pcm, *remove neg cable and turn key to start for 30 secs* then put neg cable back on, start truck let idle for 5 mins, turn off, turn back on take for a drive and see if it has gone, if not time to look into some other things that might be wrong,

Message: Joe,
Thanks for the info. I guess a model year would have been helpful in describing the problem. '99 3.9L. I'll try your suggestion, and hope the problem is resolved.
