Subject: Which Bug Shield? IP: Logged
Message: Any suggestions for which bug shield to put on my 2000 club cab 4X4? So many aftermarket mfg's I can't decide.
P.S. Who was the knucklehead at Dodge that came up with the color "Light Driftwood Satin Glow"?!?! I like the color, but this guy should be slapped...

I really like it. VERY low profile...I can't even see it from the driver's seat.

Message: Funny you should ask that question... I asked that VERY same question about a month ago for my 99 Dak CC 4x4 and got very little response...
Well, I finally made my own decision to get a Lund's Intercepter Bug Deflector (smoke - 3 piece with "fender eyebrows")
I got it from www.truckaddons.com for about $55 after having them pricematch with another website (which is one of the good things about shopping with them).
I am VERY happy with this deflector... I was driving down the interstate one day and I saw this big ass bug headed right for me... Just as he was about to impact on my windshield... WHOOOSH! Up and over the top... Whew... close one. That would have made a mess had it impacted.
Well... good luck on your decision.

Message: Oh... BTW... don't get this shield if you want "low profile"... it pretty much stands up on the front and forces alot of air over the truck...
However, it still looks good on the Dak since it is molded to the shape of the hood and it even mounts between the grill and the actual hood deck.
Like I said before... it does what it advertises and Lunds is pretty much the "leader" in the bug deflector market.
Oh well... good luck again.

Message: FWIW, I have the Lund Exterminator, also a 3 piece with fender eyebrows...no drilling.
I probably have mine installed lower then intended (the lund name plate is just barley visible over the grill)...doesn't stick up high, is hardly noticable when driving and looking down the hood, and still deflects the bugs.
Windshield no longer looks like fly paper.

Message: I had the ventvisor brand that stuck on.I had the eyebrows too, but took them off due to the crap getting behind them. I eventually took the middle part off too. IT was a good shield and cheap, maybe 50 bux
