Message: MY 99 Dodge Dakota 318 4x4 is the biggest peice of crap. I get up tismornin at 6 run to one of my buddies house to grab some paperwork i left there and i hear raddling the whole way home climb underneith it and my ranchos bottom shock mounting bolt is loose, i twist the shock a lil and the god damn thing snaps off. Not only have i replaced every single god damn suspension part on the truck but have also had all new O2s, water pump and wheel bearing. If i didnt have any knolege of how to do the stuff i would have spent more money on fixing the truck then i paid for it!

Message: Sounds like like your issues are with Rancho and your failure to properly use a torque wrench. Unles you mean the mount broke off from vibration due to a loose shock. In that case you have no issue with Rancho either....

Message: Relax, Water pumps go out at random some last along time others don't. even on the same type of cars brand, model, year, ect. as for your shock mount a loose shock will break it of and if your shock was loose from under torue thats not the dodge's problem as for your wheelbearing how many miles? how much off roading? Can I assume yourtruck is lifted since you have after market shocks and or oversize tires? This can also cause extensive wear maybe part of the cause for your failed wheel bearings. So, again I say relax. Take a look at all these and ask yourself again if Dodge is the one that builds shotty trucks. Maybe its the driver and caretaker of the vehicle that is the issue.

Next time you get a new truck you should just live it alone so you want have to fix what you just installed.
Also I think Dodge replaced the 318 in the Dakota back in early 99.
So you might want to take a closer look at your motor.

Message: There is no such thing as a 2001 with a 5.2 unless somebody other than Dodge put it there.
The Ram Van was replaced by the Sprinter last year and the production of 5.2 Magnums ceased in late 02.
