Hears the story: My friend has been looking into buying a Durango, when he came across this classified as on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2452318694&category=6192
the poster says "little known engine problem" now, I have read the boards for over a year now and have never heard about anything wrong with the 5.9 engine. My friend e-mailed the seller to see what the issue was, but im just curious if there is something wrong with the 5.9.

The stock shortblock is stout enough for 6,000 rpm runs, so other than the belly pan gasket in the Magnum intakes, well, I'm curious now.

i dont belive that there's a defect in the 5.9, i have 36,000 on my r/t and my buddy is pushing well over 110,000 on his 2001 R/T and we have yet to have a problem except the 02 sensor which went on both ours trucks, cost only about 60 bucks to replace.

Well there is the issue of the vacume leak behind the manifold. Also a few other's such as oil leaking behind the shaft.
But there is no major problems with the LA 360 motor. My 318 runs great (your 360 is a 318 on steroids) with almost 200K on the odometer.
And it just came out of the shop with a new fuel pump.

My 2000 5.9 R/T has an engine Stumbling problem. Any suggestions before taking back to dealer???

I have a 2001 dodge durando slt plus i had it in the dealer abut 13 times in 3 moths with oil leaking and antfreeze leaking from engine when i picked it from the dealer the last time the oil pressure was low and the engine was making a strange noise well it was the main bearing they had to replace the engine with just under 36000 on the 5.9
