hey guys, i've just built a custom fiberglass box for my 2001 dakota CC that fits under the rear seat, and heard that the bench seat hinges can be moved up a couple inches for extra space under neath. has anyone ever done this or know how.

Don't know about the CC but I have a QC and you know there is NO ROOM under or behind those seats but it was nothing my grinder and welder couldn't fix to get my seat moved forward an inch and a half.

My box is shoved behind the passenger side rear seat. The amp behind the driver side rear seat. A quick look into the back you think it's all stock. The Fozgate HE pounds the sh*t out of the truck with the current set up.

1 cubic foot box. RF HE 10 Sub.

Hope that gives some ideas. Probably diff than yours tho.

Max that the hinges can be moved up is about 3/4" - 1" depends on where they are located now, look at the slotted holes in the hinges. If you lengthen the slot you might get 1" to 1 1/2". I built my CC sub boxes to fit under the rear seats with the hinges all the way up without modifying the slotted holes. They were about 1/2" up from the factory and I got about another 3/4" by adjusting. Guess you could also weld an extension on the bottom of the bracket to get more room also.
