Subject: Royal Purple rear end fuid & additive IP: Logged
Message: (This has probably been covered a bunch of times, but I couldn't find it in a quick "search")
I am going to change out my rear end fluid with Royal Purple. I purchased the limited slip friction modifier from the Dodge Stealer before I got the Royal Purple.
The RP says that it already has the additive included. Is this sufficient?
What would happen if I added the Dodge modifier to the RP anyway?
Thanks
Bill

Message: you will need the friction modifier from Dodge. If you don't use it you'll chirp and grind around corners. It's a pig.

Message: No need for the friction modifier on the Royal Purple gear oil, but it won't hurt anything if you throw it in. Personally, I'd take the friction modifier back to the dealer and get your money back.

Message: I used the RP and also used the friction modifier. My trans man said it wouldn't hurt anything and might likely be needed.
My rear end used two quarts of RP and the small bottle of friction modifer (several ounces). This filled it right to the "fill hole".
