Subject: Front Bed Tiedown Hooks IP: Logged
Message: Anybody have any suggestions as to how to mount hooks for cargo tiedown straps to the bed front? I like the rear ones, and want something similar in front. Would it be OK to just bolt them onto the bed wall (assuming a resonable surface area plate to spread the load)? I want to be able to handle about 50-60 lbs of tension on each hook. I also need to mount them so that I can use a drop-in bed toolbox. I've got a Mopar bedliner installed and need to either cut through that or mount to it.

Message: I ride a dirt bike so that was the first thing that needed to be done. First thing I did was to get some hooks attach to the anchors on the bed floor under the rubber covers. Those are good for some things, but the near vertical angle of the tie downs didn't hold the bike upright. So I bought some eye bolts some wide washers and some nuts. I drilled a hole just big enough for the eye bolts on the corner box part just under the top of the side of the bed. Then I drilled about a 1 inch hole on the same structure from the back to give me room to install the eyebolts. Now I just need to get rid of the stock bedliner and install a herculiner.
