Message: I had the same problem with my 97 Club Cab. I searched this forum for the problem and found out about backflushing the heater core. After I back flushed my heater core the problem has been solved. I now have good heat at idle and durring revs. I had a bunch of crap blocking the entrance to the heater core, and when I backflushed it a bunch of yellow/brown gunk came out even though I have green fluid in the radiator.
Search the forum here for heater core backflush, or just "no heat" and you should find a simple procedure on how to do it.

Message: Check your radiator coolant level as well. Sounds simple and stupid but my wife complained of that exact thing, I checked her coolant and it was low as hell. Added some water and the problem cleared up instantly. She had a freeze plug working it's way out and was losing water that way..

Message: checked coolant level, back flushed heater core. its a little better but i still think the pump could be going south. Ive looked for leaks at the weep hole but nada. I guess I'll just keep an eye on the temp gauge for now (its never overheated). Is there a way to test presure of coolant flow? Or givin the mileage 100,000 miles should i just replace the pump. Thanks

Message: sounds like a thermostat. if the thermostat is stuck open coolant is constantly flowing through the radiator. typical symptom is no heat when idling but heat while moving (engine under load).
