Subject: Husky mud guards IP: Logged
Message: Just had a set of four molded husky Mud Flaps installed on my 04 Quad cab 4x4 and so far I am very pleased with the look. They're slightly wider then the tires and look low enough to provide adequate protection. They also barely even touch the paint on the outside of the wheel flares, so I don't think any visible rubbing away at the paint will be a problem. Plus they go nice with all the other black accessories, the ventshades, bug guard, tonneau, and rail caps.
Theres a Hemi Ram in my apartment complex with the Mopar Units on it. In terms of style I honestly cannot see a difference except his curve more on the edge so they come into more contact with the outside of his wheel flare and have the Ram's head logo. My only complaint, which isn't even the fault of the mud flaps, is that because they're an inch or two wider than the tires they actually make the tires look a little skinny from behind now, whereas before they filled out the wheel wells quite well.
But this has to be it for awhile. I swore I wouldn't do anything to this truck when I got it 2 months ago. 1 set of ventshades, 1 set of mud flaps, an alpine head unit with cd changer, a soft tonneau cover, a set of rail caps, a bend liner, and a set of Euro tail lights later, Im wondering exactly where my will power failed me. And the worst part is, my 5'2" mother is telling me I need step bars.

Message: Eddy, get the step bars. They work great. The best deal is the Westin bars from
sales@ultimateautoaccessories.com
You can install them yourself with regular tools in less than an hour since no drilling is required. I like mine and I also got the same mud flaps that you have. The wider flaps help keep some of the mud, etc off the side of the truck.

Message: Just an update... they really seem to be doing a good job in addition to looking pretty sharp. I just got out and looked at them after driving in slow, salt, and mud all day. All this gunk that would have been caked and drying along the rocker panels of the truck was built up on the backs of the flaps. Plus when I drove on the highway before I had them when the Goodyears kicked up stones from the highway all Id hear was one solid CRACK as they flew straight back and hit the side of the truck. Now it sounds like they deflect off the flaps, bounce around in the wheel wells, then fall back on the road again. Definitely worth every penny.
