Subject: electrical question IP: Logged
Message: Yesterday I pulled a maplight out of the auxiliary socket
in the dash. My radio, dashlights and dome light all lost
power.
I've checked and/or replaced all fuses, but still have no
power to radio, dash lights (except trouble light
indicators) and dome light.
Any ideas?

Message: Have you checked the main fuse bus in the engine compartment? Just my thought....

Message: Nope, but I will!
Would a bad fuse bus in engine dept. affect only only
those 3 electrical systems--dash lights, dome light and
radio-- and not others like headlights, wipers, heater
etc.?

Message: If I remeber correctly in 99 there was a hidden fuse block under the dash in the back of the regular fuse block that controlled the power outet, look up under there and see if you can find it, it should be a fuse block with 2 fuses, a friend had this problem and the fuse holder was not that easy to locate and not mentioned in the owners manual

Message: Actually, if memory serves, there is one or two "fuse" relays in the main panel under the hood that control those things. Also, there are other relays under there also you may want to look at.

and radio working again.
Many thanks to your tip.
