I have a 01 Dakota Motorsports Edition, Red with Black Stripes. I was wondering how many were made and what is the history on this model. Here are pictures of my truck.

Glad you found us, DB! This site has the most info on the 2001 Dodge Motorsports Limited Edition Dakotas. There is one other extensive thread, just pull it up under "search". There are some rides in the photo section. I have a '01 RC 4.7 5-speed 3:92 in Black. Mine and fastdak's are 2 of 13 with those specs. The total production of Motorsports Dakotas was 1028, along with 1026 Intrepids and 87 Neons. These vehicles were dealer order only, and only during April of 2001, thus the low number made. Dodge brought them out to celebrate their return to NASCAR racing. A good number were ordered with 4.7 V-8's, 5-speed manuals and 3:92 gears to fit the "image". The package, basically door decals, black 16x8's with Eagle 1's, and a "track bag" full of goodies, was avaliable in black, red or silver. You could order it on any Dak except for 4x4's and R/T's. I've only seen or heard of one other Quad Cab, in black. Take good photos of the truck with the Eagle #1's, the tires are long since out of production. What's the drivetrain in your QC, DB?

I bought my motorsport edition dakota new in 2001. It has only 25,500 mi. I need a tire for it so I can put a spare back under it. any help?

Just passing through looking for info on 4.7 engines, as I am new to mopar. My 66' ford shorty of 25 years had an untimely death and I found myself looking for a midsize truck, reg. cab, V8-5speed. Dealers told me I,d never find one. Looked on E-bay for several months when one popped up in KC Mo. I guess no one wanted a stick as I was the only one who wanted the little black truck with black rims, yellow goodyears and motorsport decals. I love my quick little short bed and knew it was limited prod. but I,m surprised to find out the black ones were so few.Its good to find info on them.Thx

I recently had a local Goodyear dealer check for inventory of Eagle#1 255/65/16. Still none available in their system.
