Subject: Best Insurance Company ? IP: Logged
Message:
Can any of you recommend an insurance company that will
sell you the coverage that you need and NOT try to sell you
what you don't?
And ... Which company are you who read this using? and
which company has the highest rating for customer
satisfaction?

Message: I currently have Farm Bureau; real happy. Gave State Farm the boot after 20 years when they wouldn't compete on price for the same coverage. Farm Bureau was $75 a month less than SF for my daughter with a 3.5 GPA and perfect driving record. I asked the SF agent if they would compete on price. Their answer? No! So...SEEYA!

Message: I am with USAA. It is only available to U.S. servicemen and women and thier families. IF you can get in with them I would look into them.
When I went shopping for insurance a few years back, everybody asked who I was currently with and when they heard USAA they said they could not touch them and hung up. THe only company that came close was Progressive, but recently they were about 1.5 times higher.
The only thing about USAA is they would not cover my motorcycle. So it is with Progrssive.
BTW, USAA is non-profit. At the end of the year, if they show a profit, they return it to thier policy holders.

Thanks for all the input !
My Fiance has insurance with Nationwide and I just think she needs to do some price comparisons with different companies.
$852.00 per year to insure a 33 year old female with a 2003 Durango and a perfect driving record is ridiculous!

$852 a yr. is peanuts. I'm paying my ex-wifes
2002 Durango insurance and it is $1500+ year
with all the safe driving and renewal discounts.

Message: Always check into a independent insurance broker
first. 99% of the time they will find insurance
that is much cheaper and still have the same
coverage (if not better) than those trade name
companies.. Remember, someone has to pay for those
TV ads.
Case in point. I'm paying $1200.00 a year for four
units. Three are fully covered and one not.
I'm very happy with it...

Message: Farm Bureau is great if you have a perfect record. (one ticket is overlooked)
my rates were $700 a year. after 4 speeding tickets over 3 years it jumped to $1600 for 6 months!
Progressive has me now for about $600 every six months. 2 tickets have dropped since. One more to go and its back to Farm bureau for me.

Message: You may want to combine your home owner's and auto to get the better rates. The more business with one company the cheaper the rates. Age and type of vehicle is a big factor in what you pay. Hit 25 and rates really drop.

Message: A good question to ask, How much does the insurance Co. pay before rates are raised ?
My agent is a Independent, he sells for Progressive among others, he tells me that if Progressive pays any amount they will raise rates.

Message: Farm Bureau is the best with out a doubt. My wife rear endended a Ford Van on the freeway and totaled her Honda. She drove my truck to look for new car and backed into a Del Sol scratching the hood. Thy paid both with no question and did not raise our rates. If it had been Alstate or State Farm we would have been canceled.

Message: I have been with Allstate for 29 years, yea I am close to being an old fart. I have 2 Daks, Mini Van(wife)and a Riced out Neon (son). I pay $1043 per year. They just paid me $1348 to repaint drivers side on my 01 Dak (eggs). They never changed a word. Wife totaled car in 91 (deer srike) and in 95 $3200 from yet another deer strike. Otherwise we have spotless records. I pumped up my liab. coverage to 1 mil. when son started driving. Pdak is dead on in what he said.

Message: I'll second USAA - though I'm paying out the nose, it's the cheapest - Period. Everybody is at least twice as expensive. Paying about $1500 every six months.
