Subject: Stupid A/C... IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys.. So my A/C has not been blowing out cold air for a couple of months, just decided to say oh well, it's almost winter.. The warm air seem to blow out fine, but this is my problem...
I sit at idle, and the engine runs fine.. then when i turn the heater, or A/C on for that matter, the rpm's seem to go up a little bit, and i hear a metal knocking come from somewhere in the engine bay.. It's like the engine runs rough while it's on and im at idle.. but when i turn it off, it's fine.. Anyone know what this could be? Thanks

Message: what year is your truck? i have a 2002 and am convinced that the A/C Clutch is making a horrible rattling noise. The RPM would be affected by any drag by the compressor. I recently took my truck to the dealer, and as i stated that the compressor was making noise, the advisor wrote down "A/C Inoperable". so the recharged it. Still makes noise, will have to return to the dealer.

Message: I have a '99. First problems I've had with it.. I have a feeling the dealer wont fix the problem, which sounds like what happened to you.
