Message: You need more info than is on the web page listing to determine a fair price: what size V8, what tranny, what other options. Once you have that info, go to www.edmunds.com and check out the used car price section. You can enter all the information on the truck, and it will compute a market price for you. That should get you a good idea of what the truck should sell for.

Message: Unless I lived in the area of North Dakota I wouldn't buy from that area. Look further south for a vehicle that hasn't been driven in the "rust belt."

Message: I shopped these pretty hard until last month when I finally found one that fit my criteria. The other post is correct that you need to know what size V8 and whether auto or manual.
Most of the 2000s I found for sale in my search were 5.9L automatics. There is a 2000 QC 4x4 SLT 5.9 auto with 60K in a lot across from where I work in Alaska that has been for sale "on sale" for 3+ months at $16,800.
Without knowing all the nitty-gritty I would say you would want to be closer to 15K than 17K. A dealer price usually has a lot of wiggle room downward just don't be afraid to walk away.

Message: Hey, dont worry about the North Dakota vehicles being from the "Rust Belt" as this just isnt so.
I just recently moved to Texas from north Dakota (Military) and I can tell you this much, I never had a problem with rust in the 10 years I was there. North Dakota uses sand/dirt to cover the icy roads now, and a new ice melt solution that is non-corrosive. I dont think salt is ever used there anymore.

Message: That's good news, many years ago I bought a 3 year old Blazer with only 30,000 miles on it that came from the "rust belt." I do not exaggerate when I say I had to break every bolt on the underside to remove them when installing what was then a very cool 8" lift.

Message: 14,000 to 14,500 tops. You could go to a public auction and score one for about 12,500.
