if it's really a tough job, you could take it to a shop and they will use a heat gun to soften the tar and get it off. Do most of it yourself to save money and then take whats left to the shop for an estimate. I had to do that about a year ago, they did a great job.

Kerosene is the easiest and cheapest, just get a spray bottle and spray it on. Soak. Reapply as needed. Wash with hot really soapy water and you will be left with a nice shiny finish - but all the wax will be gone.
Try not to apply anything if it is in the sun though - shade works best.

Clay Bar and warm water and car wash soap (if you want optional) or Meguiars #43 Final Inspection detail spray. Be sure do in shade or will have clay bar residue on vechile do small section at a time for the best results and rinse clean with water and car wash .

Sorry me again thats #34 Final Inspection spray and if you use clay bar approach DON'T DROP CLAY BAR!! if you do throw it out it will pick up any dirt or ?? and SCRATCH your finish.
