Subject: Climate Control Problems...ANYONE? IP: Logged
Message: Ok, today my climate control system took a crap. It will not change off the defrost venting position. If I switch it to any of the other settings I cannot get air to flow out of the front vents....has anyone heard of this or had it happen?
Any solutions other than taking it to the service center?

Message: Snowymyman, had the same problem on my '99. Turns out that the little trap door that controls the direction of the air flow inside the panel under the dash broke off. Except mine would ONLY blow out of the dash and nothing else.
GOOD LUCK!

Message: I can't believe that the door would have broken off...this is an 02 with ~36000miles on it. It was working fine in the morning, and when I came out and started it up after work it wouldn't switch. When I do change the setting it sounds as though the air flow changes somehow, but it doesn't actually blow any different.

Message: Yup,the air flow SOUNDS that something is happening but it is only the broken door that is still connected to the actuator getting dragged around. Actually it is the HINGES on the door that break off but the door remains connected to the actuator itself! I have NO IDEA why this happens suddenly and for no reason.
