Synopsis: Mitsubishi will be given their own version of the Dakota to market. Word has it this is the biggest German/Japanese collaboration since WWII. Hopefully it won't bomb.
The article also states the 'actual' redesigned Dakota is due to go on sale in 2004...hey, that's just weeks away! An article earlier this week stated the 'new' look, which we've all been waiting to criticize...err...see, will be unveiled at the Detroit Auto show, first week of January.
Comment: A Mitsu sister truck cheapens the brand. Period. Might as well be a Ranger/Mazda-B...do those vehicles actually sell to human beings or is this a sneaky way to get landfill for Japanese airports? What's next, the Mitsubishi Monterango? If they hand the Japanese Hemis, Godzilla doesn't stand a chance.

Message: Hopefully they will use their own engines in the truck and not get the 4.7 or hemi to put into it.

Message: Here's another take on the subject, it seems risky with an annual decline in sales, reminds me of the final years of American Motors...
