Message: Can't help you with the 16s, but have had factory 15X8 and now have factory 17X9 on my '95 4X4. The 15s rubbed on a brake caliper bolt, but with a little grinding, they cleared. The 17s are fine. As long as you use factory wheels, there's no issue about backspacing. The size of the tire controls rub and 31" is about as big as you can go with just a little trimming on the air dam and lower fender flare.
