It's true, My father and I went to the local ford dealership to get his transmission fixed, because he was turning left in front of a main lane road, and it wouldn't go in gear to go. The guy at ford checked it out, and said this "I don't exactly know whats wrong with it, but we're trying to figure it out because we've had many problems the same as yours, I'm sorry for your inconvienance(sp?), but if it happens again tow it over here." My father and I were like wtf, it was under warranty, and they wouldn't do anything about it. alos.... next time ur going down the highway at 70 miles per hour, imagine what it would be like to completely lose control of your vehicle because the engine and everything just decided to cut out. Happened twice to my dad... the second time it happened, he had to get a ride to the local dealership to buy his dodge durango.

I'm calling bullshlt on this one too.

If you're going to make shlt up to try to convince people you're right about your stand in an argument, at least make it believable.

I certainly wouldn’t accuse a GM of being quality. My last GM (s10) was the biggest piece of crap on 4 wheels. It was back to the dealer over 50 times in a two year span. Pretty much you name it, it broke. The best problem was the 4wd front end that would "magically" engage the front hubs at random times. After 4 trashed front differentials I called it quits. The 4.3 also gave crappy mileage, right about the same as my 4.7 I have now. The blazer I owned before it wasn’t all that much better btw.

My 02 Dakota has been back to the shop only twice in 50k miles for minor stupid stuff like a broken piece of trim and a bad ac fan other then that I just drive it and maintain it. I have no complaints with it.

Yeah, its ture about those Ford Ranger pussies. It it's not the transmission or T.C it's the brakes, if its not the brakes its the fan clutch, if it's not the fan clutch then it's the head gasket that blows.

I work for the MDOT and thats all we had was Ford Ranger trucks. The bigger F-150's was a bit better since none was 4x4. Even the S-10 4x4 was so unreliable. Sometimes you couldn't lock out the Transfercase. 2x4 S10's was ok.

The only Dodge's we get is 3 Durangos and a few new Ram HD trucks. I can tell you that theres not to many complaints from the people who drive them.

As for the S-10 replacement. I don't see why any truck buyer who likes good towing power would even consider. Besides.. Would it make since to use the I6 from the Midsize Chevy/GMC's than use a I5?

The Colorado is one wimpy truck. How does GM hope someone will switch brands if they even test drive anything else? This is from Motorweek's road test about two weeks ago: 220hp/225tq (give me a break!),0-60 8.7sec., 1/4mi 16.5@85mph. www.pbs.org/mpt/motorweek/search.shtml Sure it's a 4-door, but come on! Are these oriental truck fans so bored that they have to cruise a Dodge board? I guess they never communicate among themselves.
-------------------------------------------------
According to Motorweek a 2000 Dakota crew cab 4x4 with a 4.7 (only Dakota tested) it only does 16.3 @82mph. Granted its a 2000 but has the truck changed that much?????

Hey man my Ranger was a great truck, I won't idly sit by while anybody rags on it. I love my Dakota too, but that Ranger was an awsome little truck. And one thing I can say about it that I don't know if Ill be able to say about my Dak: At 107 thousand miles my mechanic said everything on the front suspension was tight as brand new.

Funny how this was on an itty bitty 2wd stripper and meanwhile Dodge's 'heavy duty' 4x4 suspension(direct quote from my window sticker) seems to have this tendency to crumble to dust at 30 thousand miles.

Ok, I had a TTB Ford and those are junk. In 100,000 replaced 4 sets of wheel bearings, 2 sets of ball joints, 1 set driveline u-joints, coil springs that sagged so far that an alignment couldn't be done. Not that it mattered cause it would eat tires for lunch, 4 sets of those too. Only thing replaced on my Dakota in 16000 is upper ball joints which were fine, but with all the complaints I replaced them for piece of mind.
