Subject: Install a Air/Fuel gauge on a 4.7? IP: Logged
Message: I did a search first and could not find anything on this.
I bought a Air/Fuel gauge to install on my 2003 4.7 Dak. I have the large single Cat with the 4 wire O2 sensors before and after the cat.
I tapped into the signal wire on the O2 sensor closest to the manifold and where I expected to get the usual reading of between 0 and 1 volt I get a reading of a little over 3 volts at idle and where it seems to stay around 2.6 volts off idle and where it seems to like to balance out right after you hit the gas or let off.
Now of course this wont work on my new gauge because it uses about .5 volt of being desired and around 1 volt as being too rich.
Does anyone know if they changed this on the newer engines? I could be on the wrong wire but I don't think so. There isn't exactly any schematics around for a 2003 which is different in the PCM and a few other things from the 2000-2002. I'd like to get this thing working BEFORE I do any more mods to my truck. Just so I have a baseline. I could probably build some sort of adapter for this gauge but not if I don't have to.
Anybody here add a Air/Fuel gauge or know anything about the new O2 sensors?
