The other day in some really fast moving freeway traffic I had the opportunity to get my 02 SLT+ 4.7/Auto/3.55LSD CC 4x2 up to 100 mph... or at least I thought I did, because at about 98-99 mph it suddenly cut out on me?!?!?! So I guess this thing has a governor, eh? That sucks... anyway to disable it (not that I *need* to go 100 mph, but knowing I can't is really annoying!)
Really lame of DC to put that on the truck... speedo goes to 120, but you'll never get to try to make it there. Just plain silly!

Lay the key down at full throtle(like you are
trying to start your truck) and your head lights
and stereo will shut off but you will sail past
the govenor. And no the starter will not grind. It
also can be taken out by getting an
aftermarket chip or being reflashed. I have
also herd that if you go to a dc dealership that
they have to remove it if you ask, but I havent
got any validity on that.
Now have fun not going 100 ;-)

I had mine up to around 95 and the truck began to vibrate. Sort of like a humming sound. Wonder what that was?

had our big old 97 3.3L v6 dodge grand caravan up to 110 once! i backed off like rob454 because it started to feel awful wierd in the front.
fun though!

Have had my 2003 QC 4.7 4X4 up to about 115 before I backed off. Never hit the limiter. Have even had up to 110 or so pulling my trailer with two quads once. This guy in a Tahoe kept f*cking with me so I had to go past his wimpy speed limiter just to show him what's up. Mine was faster on the hills too and he only had one quad on his trailer.

Mine just started to float on the front end. Besides I got kinda scared doing 120 and not having good steering control. I never did it again. i was on a toll road and was doing about 85-90 and there was nobody around so I jsut wanted to see if it will go to 120 or cut out. It never cut out. I know the shocks were worn out which was one reason it handled sloppy. I changed the shocks and it handles much better but Im not gonna try to go that fast again. besides you gotta have good brakes to stop from 120
