I just bought a 2003 Dakota with the 40/20/40 bench seat. The center armrest doesn't open, in the 2004 I test drove it did. I looked at some old posts on this board and saw that apparently some 2003's do and some don't.

Is this something I can get the dealer to correct?

When buying my new Dakota test drove a few and all the 40/20/40 had NO storage, Dodge changed it from the years before--salesman did not know why (probably$$). For that reason i opted to buy the high back seat with center console----armrest deal is just a waste--too small for 3 in the front and NO storage. I bought a 2003 QC SLT 4x4 Silver and love it!

The same thing happened to me. I ordered the bench seat because of the "business" console with lots of storage. When I picked up my truck I didn't notice it until I was home 70 miles away. I had no useful storage in the truck at all. I emailed Chrysler and got a blow off reply about a new vendor.

I called my dealer, Benny Boyd, Lampasas TX and my salesman Rey Rios walked around their lot and found one in charcoal that opened and arranged for the shop to swap them out for free. They are an awesome dealer. Even loaned me a car so I could go play golf while they did it.

Lesson learned: I went to 5 dealers before I got a below invoice/into the holdback price and great service to boot. I did spend almost three months on it though.
