 Subject: Headlights crapping out

Uh oh! Driving down the snowy road and all of a sudden the lights go out. I turned the switch on and off but just the fog lights are on. So, I pulled the hi/lo lever and they were restored. Hmm... an odd fluke maybe? Then it happened again a week later. I better fix this before they don't come back on!
I assume a relay for the high and low is crapping out and not the main relay. Is this something as simple as locating the relay and changing it out or is there more to it? Any better troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!!
