Subject: Fast right blinker? IP: Logged
Message: Just checked my running lights, blinkers and brake lights and they all work. Why am I getting a fast right blinker? I know I'm missing something obvious.

Message: My flasher unit went out, it would switch between blinker mode and hazard mode. most times that I have seen the fast blinker it is because a bulb is out. Could be the flasher though.

Message: the higher the load the faster the blink, so more then likely there is a short somewhere. Yeah I know some clown will try to argue with me BUT when you have a light burned out is ALWAYS blinks slower.

Message: yea, in the old days, a burned out bulb did cause the remainder bulbs to flash slower. But Dodge upgraded their flasher circuit years ago. The wife's '97 Neon has those crap wedge 3157 bulbs with the little wire that corrodes/breaks in the socket so the bulb no longer make electrical contact with the socket. Whichever side is failing will flashat double speed. Either I scrape the thin wire
or replace the bulb and it is back to normal.
This happens quite regularly. Bulb grease helps
the new bulb go longer than no grease at all.
Bring back the 1157! 3157 bulbs and Dak ball joints are poor designs that can be manufactured
very cheaply due to the enormous pressure that
DC uses to squeeze their suppliers into providing
parts at rock bottom prices and rock bottom quality.
