HI,

I pulled my IAT sensor today, and the tip and about about 1/4" down from the tip was very black. It smelled like gas, so i am pretty sure thats what cuased it. I was wondering if this was normal, or should i go get a new one? Thanks

This is kinda a dumb question, but did you unscrew the brass piece or does it disconnect right behind that? I want to put in a resistor and was just wondering thanks

qabledack think about things for a bit.

"the tip and about about 1/4" down from the tip was very black"

THE PCV VENTS OIL VAPORS INTO THE INTAKE !!!!

"It smelled like gas"

THAT'S QUITE POSSIBLE THE FUEL INJECTORS SPRAY FUEL INTO THE INTAKE RUNNERS

NOW WHERE IS THE IAT LOCATED..........MORON

If you want to test that it's bad, go to a local place like radio shack if you have one and find a 22k or 15k resistor. They trick the computer into thinking the IAT is working right. I have a resistor in mine right now since the IAT took a crap.

Ryan,

Do you notice any mileage drop or performance difference by doing the resistor?

Wouldn't that make the computer stuck on rich or stuck on lean condition?

Just wondering.
