no its not that easy,you,ll need pcm,wiring harness for your truck[v6 to v8]etc

The engine will bolt in. As for the PCM, they changed in 1996, and you will need the PCM for a '96 up Dakota V8. It will have to be encoded with your VIN. This the onlw way to have a fully functional truck...instruments, ABS, tranny, etc.

better yet.. get the PCM out of a 98' V8 so you can keep your speedometer and ABS.
