How hard would it be to make well liners out of diamond plate?

i don't know how hard it would be but everyone would sure know when you coming. Imagine all the little pebbles that are thrown in your wheel well hitting metal.

Im talking about the plastic pieces that get put on the wheel wells on the 97 and up dakotas.
As for making them out of diamond plate I think it would be a huge PITA. to get all the curves and corners and then weld it all up
I know some guys on here have taken them off. I mean mine are still on its just the corners that have been trimmed but Im switching back to stock size tires and want to make it look stock again.

But my wheel well is made of metal anyway... I rarely hear pebbles now. But yes, I see the PITA part. I still think it would look cool.
