Message: why are diesel exhausts so much bigger than gas exhausts? does it have something to do with the high compression ratio of the diesel? anyone know why?

Message: yeah I do, a diesel usually has a turbo charger on it. A turbocharger works much more efficiently with as little backpressure as possible, unlike a gas engine with out a turbo usually works better with a small amount of backpressure.
