Message: That is a very broad question you've got there. It is all opinion. What you like, what you want it to sound like.
You will get a response covering most options as great but sound is the key for what your taste it.
I have had a 40 series flowmaster 50 series delta high flow with a added High flow Cat. 3.5" tips to chrome turns downs. It all make a difference and sounds different.
Others say Dynomax is a little quiter but still nice rumble, I believe.
There are others I am sure that guys like and will add as a suggestion.
You can check my site for the 40 series flow on any video before March of 2003, after that I had the 50 series with the Hi flow cat added. trips are listed by date so you can get an idea if that is to much or not.

Message: I have 2 Dakotas, one the 3.9 and the other 5.2. I have flowmaster 70 series on both, I like the sound of both, plenty of performance, slightly louder than stock. I went with the 70 series to keep peace with the neighbors. IF you want it louder than the 70 series, go with the 50 series 2.5inches in and 2.5 inches out.
