Just got my new Dak last week to replace my old s-10. Boy it's fun, but I have a question. I keep hearing this funny rear end noise when I take off. I never heard my s-10 make it. It sounds like a squeaking and it lasts until I let off the gas and shift into second. Sometimes I can smell somthing burning too and my friends have said that they can see some smoke. One of my friends is laughing at me and telling me that's what I get for buying a dak. He's had his S-10 for 5 years and never had it do that. Also, do you guys notice excessive tire wear on these trucks? In the week I've had it I can already see some wear on the back tires, but none on the front. Strange.

As for the weird smoke and noises coming from the rear end....I dont know. But, the tires, what type of tires do you have? What are the specs on your dakota? We need a little more info here.

Was the truck you bought ever in a wreck? The noise combined with the uneven rear tire wear makes it sound to me like the rear end might be bent.
